Front bumpers faded a bit, and the drivers seat has a tear. Other than that, it looks all good.

NP I think. I had a friend who used to own a NA MR2, same year as this I think, and he got rid of that one somewhere in that price range.

Even with the buttload of miles it has?

My only hesitation would be with the mileage.
200K is fairly high for anything... but maybe do-able on a Toyota MR2, if it has been well kept for it's 24 years. Inspection would be mandatory.

Without a doubt.
My Bimmer has 171k and runs like a champ. This is 90s Toyota we're talking about. Just depends what kind of owners it had

It is an MR2 turbo... is there a guarantee that it hasn't been hooned hard?
It was built well, and they do tend to be reliable cars, but all machines have a service life.
And in Kansas, they do get snow, and probably salt on the roads... iron cancer could be a factor in the hidden places, as well as possible metal fatigue in some places.
But you are right... it may be fine, and have a few more miles to give, and it is an affordable mid engined sports car.
3.3K would be a decent starting offer... clean and good to go, 3K as a final offer... if there are mechanical issues undisclosed... maybe as low as 1.5K, and plan on restoring the whole car. If rusty... 1.5K, and drive the car until something breaks, and then part it out for other MR2s.

You're right, it's hard to tell if past owners were nice to it. I'd rather there be a mechanical issue or two, so I could low ball him hard and fix it myself, but I live about 2.5 hours from KC, so that requires truck and trailer.
I'll show you my alternative option.

Yes. Remember, it's a TOYOTA!!!!
An unmolested MR2 turbo commands a high price because there are so few of them left and they are bulletproof as any 90s Toyota.
I've seen worse condition examples at higher prices.

So much yes. I'd personally put in a bit of work to get it as close to original condition as possible. I love second-gen MR2's. If only it was painted orange mica....

How high of a price do you think it would command?

I would fix the seat and maybe buy a replacement bumper yes.
Hopefully a stock MR2 Turbo would command a high selling price

Sure. do want. 200K is a lot, but $3K isn't that much, especially for a turbo, provided everything really is all good.
I used to have a 3SGTE powered celica, it's a nice engine if you're into the feel of older turbochargerd mills. Old school lag, but a nice strong shove once boost comes on.

I can put up with the mileage. I'm just worried about selling at that mileage

Well that only be 2000-2500 profit after fixing some stuff

Looks like a pretty good deal, I dd my MR2 turbo and it has around that same mileage. I seems to be stock which is even better as that seems tougher and tougher to find.

Any words of wisdom you can provide from owning one?

There is very little engine bay room when you have to do 'serious' work. Regular maintenance is a breeze though. I haven't had any reliability issues with mine. A leak from a loose valve cover is pretty typical and can be fixed with better bolts. Leaky t-tops can be a nuisance but I assume that is how it is with all t-tops. Nothing else immediately comes to mind.
